Ben Recites The Cat in the Hat

Ben's favorite book is The Cat in the Hat. We do not have a copy (and it's going to stay that way!) but his Grandmother B does. So anytime we go to their house, she has to read it to him. And again and again. He's heard it so much he can recite it.

"I do not like it, not one little bit said the fish. jabber jabber............ You should not be here when your mother is out."

I only understand part of it. But he must know what he's saying because the jabber is the same every time. He says it really fast, which is another reason I can't understand much of it.

We're heading to Grandmother's house this afternoon, and Ben's excited.

In Seth news:

We've had a big spider outside for quite some time. Brian looked up what kind it was, I can't recall. It was on the back of his Wildlife magazine. Anyway, we learned it was a "her" and have stayed out of her way. We check on her almost daily. Well I've been extremely busy with church stuff lately, and so I hadn't been in the back yard in several days. So sometime this week, I can't even remember the day! maybe it was Tuesday. Anyway, I was in the back yard and Seth was playing with the gate to the fence and I looked up to check on our spider.

She was gone! So was her web! Now you must understand, this spider has withstood a minor hurricane and a nor'easter. The kids got out of school for this weather but the spider didn't budge. So I said "oh no, she's gone! She's gone!" Seth said something to the effect of "my go find it" but then he said: "What a shame!"

I laughed out loud. What a shame! Where did he learn that? Maybe The Cat in the Hat!!

Hey Amanda! I laughed out loud too when I read what Seth said about the spider...it actually sounds like something your mom would say.
