Husband's family was down for the long weekend, and we spent a lot of time with them. The boys enjoyed playing in the river (which is very shallow, thankfully), the dirt, and especially the boat ride! Ben was particularly fond of someone's little dog, I think he's a schnauzer. Anyway, he's cute, and Ben-size.
Potty training update: Seth is doing great. He can pretty much wear underwear now. I had been told that boys took longer to train, but once they started training, they would do so quickly. I believe it! Seth knows when he has to go, he tells one of us, and his pants stay dry! We've been giving matchbox cars for messing up the potty instead of diapers. Ben was really upset that he didn't have any little cars, so Husband took Ben to the bathroom, sat him on the little potty, and quietly talked to him about using the bathroom. I don't really know what all was said, but the end result was Ben getting a car! He was really proud of himself. And after that he said he needed to go to the potty, and he went! So hopefully he's also catching on.
Enjoy the pictures! Today will be a real letdown for the boys: we're having a low key day, and going to the library for story time. No more beach!
They were emptying the river onto the beach via small cups!
Ben and his aunt play a combination baseball/golf game.
Seth is ready!
Seth pitches!
Ben plays in the dirt, and loved every minute of it!
Seth was saying "cheese!" (notice you can see his back sticking up between his shirt and swim trunks, no diaper!!)
Ben cools off in the water, while Seth shovels the beach.
Ben, showing off his shoveling.
Ben has seen his Daddy use the shovel in the yard.
Shoveling, again.
and again.
aren't they silly!
