Potty Training update

On Mother's Day we went to a big family celebration with husband's extended family. Before it was time to leave, he took each boy, individually, to the bathroom to try to use the potty. We had not had any successful tries since Thursday (even though we took the "little potty" with us at Seth's request). First Seth went to the bathroom, and he was successful! So he got a cookie and was thrilled!

Then husband took Ben. We've been letting Ben sit on the potty with Seth as I read the Elmo Potty Book, etc. (I should note here that we have two little potties, so Ben has his "own" potty.) Well, Mr. Ben used the potty successfully (standing up!) on Mother's Day! Yay for Ben! He was so proud of himself. He, too, got a cookie (we've been bribing with matchbox cars, but forgot to take them with us). He was also successful yesterday.

We're on the way to cutting out diapers-times-two from our budget. We're not there yet, by any means. But there is a light at the end of this long and expensive tunnel!

That is such great news. It will be so much easier when they are potty trained. I know that is coming but it will be a long time.

Luke is on his way, too. He's now doing better than Ryan.
