Not Singing

The children at our weekly Bible study have their own program: their own classes, curriculum, and even music. Twice per year the children perform for the grown-ups. This is the first year mine can really sing the songs, and I have seen a big difference in their memory since Christmas. Ben comes home singing songs I've never even heard. He even taught me a verse: He has risen. Mark 16:6. It sounds like Mark 66 when Ben says it, so I had to look it up. Yesterday he busted out with "For God so loved the world........ John 3:16."

My child can quote scripture better than me.

Oh Seth can too, but Ben really likes to sing songs more than Seth.

So, back to the topic. Wednesday of this week, the children sang for us. They march in, and stand in a specific spot. Mine marched in, holding hands. They stood where they were supposed to. They waited for it to begin.

Then they didn't sing.

Ben just stood there looking around. Seth decided to stamp his foot and jump up and down. All of the other children are singing Jesus Loves Me, and other lovely songs. My child is jumping up and down. No one else was, just my child.

But at least he got to wear his Sunday shoes. I think that was the highlight of his week.

see the little blond boy in the background here? that's what all the other children were doing. except mine.
