The boys went on an adventure recently. Husband and I celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary in Savannah this weekend. It was great. We had so much fun, just walking around looking at the historic downtown area, and eating. That pretty much sums up what we did. We ate a lot. And we walked a lot, which is good since we ate so much.
No we did not take the boys. They went on their own vacation, to Grandma and Granddaddy's house. I think they had more fun than we did. Thursday morning when I picked the boys up from their Mothers Morning Out, the teacher said "Seth told me he was going to grandma's", so I told her yes we were going that afternoon. As soon as he woke up from his nap, he got his lion (the animal he sleeps with) and his blanket, and declared he was ready to go to Grandma's. I suggested we wait for Ben to wake up; we would hate to leave him here all alone.
So finally we got into the car and set off for Grandma's. They had lots of fun, and then we left Friday morning. My mom brought the boys back to our house this afternoon once we returned. The boys played outside at their house, drew on the driveway with sidewalk chalk, ate at Pizza Inn, wore Sunday suits and Sunday shoes to Granddaddy Cox's church (Seth was really excited about this before we left on Thursday), and got to ride in their "ban" (van) and watch TV in the ban (they watched a Thomas the Train DVD).
With all that fun, coming home is going to be a real drag for them.
So tonight, just before we read stories for bedtime, I told them tomorrow morning we were going to play outside at our house. It won't surprise anyone to hear that Seth said "I want to go to Grandma and Granddaddy's house."
