Conversations

Ben & Seth are starting to have conversations with each other.

This morning, when Seth woke up, I heard him whinning "Mommy, my paci......." which usually means he's knocked it out of his bed and needs me to find it/get him a new one. (I've not taken the paci away yet; quite honestly, I enjoy it's calming affects on him. We do generally limit it to nap/bedtimes, unless he's particularly whinny and I need to keep myself from harming him.)

Anyway, Seth wakes up wanting his paci. Then Ben tells Seth the paci is in his bed. Seth says it's not, Ben says it's on the floor -- they're having this conversation about the paci, in broken speech of course. They are only two years old. It was hilarious.

In other news, the boys are really enjoying watching the Olympics. We've been watching swimming a lot. They pay attention and get upset when swimming goes away (commercials or NBC pans to another event). Speaking of swimming, the mens 4x100 relay team won the gold medal last night (this morning, China time), and the 3rd swimmer was Cullen Jones who attended, and swam at, NCSU!!! GO PACK!!!

Hey Amanda,

Your boys look and sound like a lot of fun. I kept joking with my wife we are going to have twins but our u/s confirms there is only one child inside and it looks like another girl. It has been a long time. I am living in the town we moved to when we left NC where I graduated high school. I really enjoy the small town life and my wife does as well. I love being a dad, my daughter is so sweet. I hope to bring the family out to NC, maybe next summer. My cousin is in med school at Duke and I would like to get out there to see him and see some old familiar faces and places. Take care and enjoy being a mom.
