B. & S. had their
first boating expedition on Saturday! B. wasn't too thrilled with the life jacket. Actually he hated it. He cried and cried, but it was something he had to wear, so there wasn't much we could do.

Upon launch neither boy was very happy, but I am certain it was the life jacket. B. took a little nap, and he felt much better when he woke up.

B. is the new captain, but S. was too busy playing with shoes to worry about driving. Maybe S. will navigate while B. drives.
We had a picnic lunch in the boat. They were big boys. B. sat in a folding chair and S. sat on the boat bench seat.

After lunch we stopped at a beach and changed the boys into their swim trunks. It was PLAY TIME!! Sand and water, what more could you want! S. tried to drink the water. He was successful a few times. B really liked playing in the sand, but S was not a fan of sand.

All that playing makes for a tired boy. Or two tired boys. It didn't take long for both to fall asleep once the boat started moving. We were headed back to shore.
Everyone had a lot of fun. On Sunday (yesterday) we went to hubby's family reunion. There were 108 people there. They go back 4 generations before us. So there were lots of people we only see at the annual reunion, and we don't even know their names. But there is always good food. S, in his typical picky fashion, ate very little. But B really had fun. He had butter beans, corn, macaroni and cheese, a pimento cheese sandwich, turkey, and I can't even remember what else!
It's fun to go, but it's nice to come home!
