No we haven't adopted a pet.
Back during Camp Grandmother, Ben and Seth were treated to happy meals at McDonald's. Of course a little toy comes in a happy meal. They got the same toy, a little black dog with a yellow bandanna (plastic) around his neck.
The boys have really loved their doggies, and have taken to sleeping with doggie. Last week my friend and I took our children out in strollers for a walk. The doggies came with us. And we came in the house with the doggies, and then one doggie somehow disappeared.
For several days Ben hadn't mentioned his doggie. Until nap time yesterday. He had a complete meltdown when I told him we had lost doggie -- he asked for it. I didn't bring it up! I finally convinced him we would look for it when Daddy got home from work. Once Ben went to sleep, I called the hubs and told him to high-tail it to Mickey D's on the way home and get us another doggie!
Ben woke up from his nap happy, and I think he had forgotten about doggie. So when husband came in from work he pulled a doggie out of his pocket! Ben thinks the dog was in his coat pocket all along. And we are so very fortunate because according to the McDonald's lady, they only had a few toys left.
We all celebrated with the french fries from the happy meal!

Back from Camp Grandmothers
The boys are back. They've been bouncing between Grandparents for just shy of one week! Lots of spoiling! :)
I have seen pictures of them playing in the snow earlier this week, but I don't have them yet. I will post them as soon as I do. So cute! They were catching snowflakes on their tongues and had snow all over their hands!
It's back to normal today. They were glad to be home, but I'm sure they will miss their grandparents!

What is Missing Here?
What is missing in these pictures:

Oh, we took the crib rail off months ago. Specifically, January 2008 Seth crawled out of the bed. So we took the crib rails off and put up toddler rails.
But not anymore! Seth got rid of his back before Christmas. Ben just recently asked that we take his off. And both have done so well! They've only fallen out of their beds a few times.
BIG boys!

Saturday was Boy-Day
Saturday was boy-day. No girls allowed.
I had two meetings on Saturday. They took up almost the entire day. So we deemed Saturday "Boy Day". Just daddy & boys. And they had fun!
After breakfast, they played a bit inside with their trucks, but then they went outside! It's been cold or rainy for a few weeks now, so we haven't been outside. But Saturday was in the low 60s (in January! I love where we live!), so outside it was. Husband said he did yard work, but the boys had a big time. They rode their bicycles (really that means they played on them, they haven't quite figured out how to push the pedal with just one foot, they try to push both feet at the same time), their firetrucks, and I heard something about a wagon ride! Oh and Grandma & Granddaddy Cox came by as a surprise (to the boys) visit!
So I got home from my busy day sometime after 6pm. They were playing in their room, so I went in and the first thing Seth said was "I got boo boo." It seems he was riding his firetruck on our deck in the back yard, and Seth doesn't understand that he can't ride down the steps. So of course he went down the steps and fell off and scraped his face a little bit. Not much, it's just a little red. I doubt there was blood. I'm almost certain no blood. Husband said he cried for just a minute then announced "I'm okay!" and was ready to play more!
They must have played really hard, because they went right to sleep that night!

Boo boos and colds
Happy Monday!
We're a little sickly around here. Both boys have colds, and it's only a matter of time before mommy catches it. Yesterday I thought Seth was worse than Ben, but this morning I think Ben is worse. So they're probably even. We put the humidifier back in their room, and they are being so smart! Not touching it! Yay!!
But the bigger news is Ben's boo boo. Yesterday we had a youth-sponsored luncheon at church. As the youth leader, I had to be there, and we usually prep during the 11am service. So we all went to early church, and during the 11am service, husband was helping me direct the youth. And then he disappeared. I really didn't think much of it, until one of my fellow youth helpers came down from the service to help, and asked if my boys were okay. She said they were crying in the nursery. I said, "really? I had no idea." And she calmed my fears by telling me husband was in the nursery with the boys. Okay. They'll be fine. He can handle it.
Not until right before noon did he walk down with both boys, and one of the nursery workers. It seems that as one of the moms was leaving, she shut the nursery door, but Ben had been playing and somehow she shut the door on his finger. The nursery worker is so sweet and loves my boys so much, she was almost in tears telling me what happened. She said his poor finger was flat! But it was just the tip, and God was watching over us and protected his right hand. The boo boo is on his left index finger. So he can eat and play and do everything without touching his boo boo.
It's much better now. By the time she brought them down to the fellowship hall his finger was just very red. It's already started turning blacky-blue. Every so often he will tell me he has a boo boo and we don't touch it. And he walks around with it sticking up (like right now he's holding his yogurt cup and letting that finger wave around in the air). I think he will make it! It's just one of the many boo boos he'll encounter in life.
This morning he's much more bothered by his cold than the finger, so I gave in and let them eat breakfast in the living room on their "little table" (toddler sized card table) and watch the Dr. Seuss video of the Sneetches, the Zacs, and Green Eggs and Ham. They absolutely LOVE it!

Backpacks
The boys got backpacks from their Grandmother for Christmas. They came with frog slippers, and some bath essentials (which Ben is modeling in the middle picture), but mainly the boys like to wear them around. Today they put their water cups & cheerios in the packs and took them to Mother's Morning Out.
